Pregnancy and Low Back Pain Therapy

Physical therapy can not only increase comfort for expectant mothers, it can improve delivery and relieve postpartum pain.  With fluctuating hormone responses during and after pregnancy, ligamentous laxity in the low back and sacroiliac joints contribute to low back pain.  Other symptoms that are associated with pregnancy include numbness and tingling in buttocks and legs, joint pain, upper back pain, and pain associated with changes in musculoskeletal demands and postural changes.  We will work closely with your physician in order to ensure a safe, comprehensive, and effective treatment plan to alleviate your discomfort.
